The film was an average hit at box-office, but it was more importantly a musical hit due to music composed by A. R. Rahman. She had plenty of glamorous roles lined up for her in Tamil, but instead continued with Tollywood for a year. She has made her comeback in Kollywood through the film Mazhai with Jayam Ravi. An important information about this movie is that it was shot at brisk speed as it was an interim project for Vijay, squeezed between Thirupachi and Sivakasi, with him pairing for the first time with Asin in the latter while his lucky lady, Trisha was his lead lady in the earlier mentiond. In Telugu, Happy opposite Allu Arjun was a hit. Bommarillu, with Siddharth Narayan, is a super hit and won Best Movie Award in the Santosham Film Awards.

Recently, she won the Filmfare Award as a Best Actress for her performance in the block buster Telugu movie Bommarillu for the year 2006. She acted in her first Kannada film Satya In Love in 2008. The film grossed close to 4 crores in its opening weekend creating a new record in the Kannada film industry.
